Photo of the bell that hangs in the Bryant Pond Baptist Church in Bryant Pond, ME. After it melted in a fire at a nearby factory in the early 1900s, it was recast and brought to the church. It was originally the fog bell for the iron lighthouse on Minot’s Ledge off Cohasset, MA, which broke apart in a storm in 1851. The bell made its way to Maine when it was recovered by salvagers after the storm and sold at an auction.
